The Deep Freeze

It is another windy, subzero night here in Iowa.  It has been bitter cold lately, and the windchills for the next couple days will be down around 40 below.  The actual temperature won't get up to zero for a few days. Ridiculous.  I have been out shoveling snow tonight.  We got about seven inches last night, which I dutifully shoveled this morning before work. Tonight, I had to shovel waist-deep drifts out of the driveway again, this time just from the wind-blown snow during the day.  It wasn't even snowing today!  The driving was horrible today, with the wind blowing drifts out over the road, and a thick layer of ice underneath.  It is getting old.  Iowa is very excited about the Hawkeye victory in the Orange Bowl,  though!

Baby Eva is growing quickly, and is getting chins and big puffy cheeks. She makes lots of little noises, both contected ones and angry ones.  She is so cute!

Weekly picture, week 5

Asher seems to be getting a bit of cabin fever, being cooped up in the house instead of going to school.  He is drawing a lot, though, and learning about animals with Sarah.  He is a great big brother, and is excited and interested in what his baby sister is doing.

Here is Asher's latest self portrait, in yellow!
