School's Out For Summer!

Hi, this is Tim, back after a bit of a blogging hiatus.  We have been busy, me with work and school, and Sarah with the kids and working nights and weekends.

Summer has come to Iowa.  After the first really mild winter since we moved here, spring has been mostly warm and beautiful, and we could use a little more rain.

Sarah's parents were here with us last week, and her dad came back for this week, so the kids have been soaking up lots of good grandparent time.  The kids are doing great, and growing like mad.

Asher finished kindergarten a week or so ago.  He loved it, and he already misses his teacher and seeing his friends every day.  He seems to think every minute of the day should have something fun or special for him to do.  This week, Sarah's dad took him to a one-day kid's football camp put on by the high school's football program. He worked on awesome football skills like throwing, kicking, catching, and "running backwards pumping my hands like two hammers".  It will be a challenge keeping this kind entertained and learning this summer.

Eva has more and more personality every day.  She wants to help with everything, or better yet, do it herself.  She finished her first set of swim lessons this week, and loves the water.  She is speaking very clearly, and most of what she says is hilarious.

Elise is growing up quickly.  She is cutting her two front top teeth right now and is grouchy about that.  Usually, though, she is a mellow, loving little baby.  She is crazy about her big brother and sister, and loves to give them hugs.  She is a few weeks from her first birthday, but is big and strong and wearing 18-month clothes already.

If you are reading this, thanks for still checking out our blog, even though we have been terrible at keeping it up to date lately.
