Spring!

It is a mild, cloudy night in Iowa.  After such a long, cold winter, the weather suddenly turned warm(ish) and rainy over the last week or so.  The rivers are rising fast, and major flooding is forecast all around the state over the next few weeks.  Our yard is a swamp, and the huge piles of snow in the front (see above) are much smaller.  We had a crazy, kind of tough week, with a busy schedule and a car that gave up the ghost (RIP station wagon).  We are now all carpooling together at six each morning, which kind of forces me to go to the gym every day before work, so it is working out OK.

It is really late right now, but I realized we hadn't posted for a while, so here are some pictures from the last week or two.  The one above is Asher's first bike ride of 2010, which he took as soon as the ice melted off most of the sidewalks!
Planting chile pepper seeds!

mmmm... chips

Eva, deep in thought

Last Saturday was Sarah's birthday!  Unfortunately, Asher got violently ill on Friday afternoon and was throwing up on Saturday, too.  So, Sarah's festivities were a bit subdued.  She did open some great presents, and got to blow out candles on her birthday cheescake!
