It's a very warm Sunday night in Central Iowa. We had some very cold nights during last week, including a very hard freeze, but this weekend things were back to shorts and T-shirt weather. Yesterday, I pulled out the tomato plants for the year, and most of the leaves have fallen.
I finished another class this last week (another A!), and start a new one this Thursday. It seems like I still have a lot of school left, but I'm making progress.
All three kids are doing great. Asher got to go see Phineas and Ferb live on stage yesterday with a friend from his old school. He is still loving kindergarten, and he is getting really good at sounding words out. he also seems to be a natural at math.
Eva is talking a lot more, and putting words together very well. She is full of energy, and loves going on long walks, but refuses to stay in the stroller. A couple weeks ago, I took her for a walk through Ledges State Park. The Ledges used to have a scenic drive down a beautiful sandstone canyon (we have blogged about it before). The road was pretty well wiped out by a flash flood earlier this year, but you can still walk down from the top. It is a beautiful, peaceful place, especially in the fall. Eva insisted on walking almost the whole way.
Elise is growing like mad, and getting more and more personality. She has started rolling around, and also has started giggling. She is mostly a mellow, easy-going baby, but does keep Sarah up most of the night almost every night.
Here are a couple of pictures from this weekend and last. Last weekend, Asher, Eva and I went to play disc golf. We usually go to Saylorville Lake or Big Creek to play, but this time we stayed right in Waukee, just 2 blocks from our house as the crow flies. Oddly, even though it is almost in our front yard, we had never played this course all the way through. This time, Eva refused to stay in the jogging stroller at all, and really wanted to play. This slowed down play a bit, but we had a blast.
