Old Snow

It is another snowy Friday afternoon in the Hawkeye State.  Last week, we set a new record for most consecutive days with at least 5 inches of snowcover on the ground.  There has been at least that much for 59 days now (and counting). Cabin fever is in full force, at least for me.  I am ready to go out and enjoy some sunshine and warm weather, but it will be a while, at least for the second one. The bad weather can act as a kind of built-in excuse. Right now, I have myself convinced that I would be out jogging right now, if it weren't for the ice and snow and, you know, frostbite.  Shoveling snow is good exercise, right?

We had a busy week, with Sarah, Asher, and Eva all going back to daycare/work.  Eva is adjusting well, and Asher is having a blast spending time with his friends again.  I am taking a very interesting Business Ethics class on Wednesday nights.  It is kind of fun working through all of the sticky ethical case studies that have come out of the last several years in the business world. I have been trying to figure out some mechanical problems that have been plaguing our beat-up station wagon lately.  A car overheating in subzero temperatures is not a good thing.

Asher and Eva are really cute together right now.  He talks all the time about how much he loves his little sister, and told his class the other day that she is his valentine.  She makes a happy little squeek and starts waving her arms when she sees him.  In a couple years, I'm sure they will be driving each other crazy, but it's sweet now.

Now, some pictures taken by photographer Asher:
