My husband just grilled the best Iowa pork chops EVER and along with a side o' sweet potatoes, my evening meal was the mostest favorite o' mine! :) Loved it! I love my man!
Right now Asher and Tim are constructing another one of their infinite train set-ups involving
Geotrax. They have such a blast every time they get it out and it gives Ash HOURS of entertainment.
Yesterday we headed up to Boone, IA for a ride on the
Boone and Scenic Valley Railroad steam train. We had a blast and it is one of our favorite things of summer here in Iowa (hence Asher's renewed interest in setting up his trains all over the living room).
Asher this week decided to stop calling us "Mommy" and "Daddy", and has switched to the big boy talk of "Mom" and "Dad". It's sorta sad, and a bit hilarious at the same time. He says "Mom" about 10 times in a sentence. For instance, the other day we were at Target and I took him to look at the toys. He KEPT saying, "MOM, MOM, do you see that toy, Mom, do you see that toy, MOM? I'm going to ask Santa for that for Christmas, Mom!" Yes, Asher hasn't forgotten that Christmas is coming...albeit a bit down the road, and his Christmas list seems to be infinite at this point in time. Whenever he sees something he likes a whole lot it becomes one of the trillion things he's going to ask Santa for. It's cute, but really funny when people look at you at the store with the look that's wondering why in the world your child is talking about Santa at the end of May.
SO, Memorial weekend is underway. Today Tim and Asher played football in the backyard--it was so adorable to see Ash catch the Nerf football and then take off running and then followed by his touchdown dance...we should have taped it for posterity, but it was one of those times when the camara was still in the car and you just can't recapture the moment.
Have a super weekend! Whoo-hoo--day off tomorrow! "Hooray!" as Asher will say!
