MAY!

It is a beautiful evening in Central Iowa. The weather is supposed to be perfect all weekend, which will be nice. The last few weekends have been rainy, cold, and nasty. Last weekend, we had about 5 inches of rain! It sure is nice now, though. The trees are blooming, the grass is unbelievably green, and the air has the smell of plowed soil and new growth. It is May now, and signs of Spring are everywhere
  • Home-style haircuts for Asher and I today on the back deck:
  • Exploring the fields:
  • Watching the grass grow:
  • Libby is happy!

  • This is much better than last week, when she was sick of the cold:
  • The first farmer's market (a.k.a city market ) of the year is tomorrow morning. Sarah can't wait to eat some poffertjes! Here is a picture of the market from last year.
  • Enjoying May-day treats! In Iowa, kids give each other cups of candy on Mayday, each one including some kind of fake bug. I don't know if a lot of places do this, but I never heard of it in Utah. Asher got a cup from some neighbor kids that include what he calls "Cubbie Grahams"
  • And of course, trying on new summer clothes!
